My channel is dedicated to wild camping in remote places either by foot, canoe, 4x4 and motorcycle, with a bit of bushcraft, survival and camp cooking thrown in. Hopefully the channel will provide a good resource to others interested in the same type of stuff.

Hello everyone, Some more footage from the Spain truck camping trip. We find a good campsite near the hilltop town of Alquézar and I head off on a MTB trail in the surrounding hills of the Sierra de Guara. Definitely an area worth visiting. Hello, In this episode Spanish Albert and myself head out on a fine sunny day for a night on a hill. I used a Sierra Designs backcountry Bivi 3000, ended up with some condensation inside in the morning but other than that it's a decent bag, enough room to be comfortable and the bug net is a useful feature. Thanks for watching! 👍 Cheers, Ben.

Winter Road Trip in a Truck Camper - SCOTLAND

Hello everyone, this video is a bit late as I had technical issues and lost the original edit, then I got sick for a few weeks. We take a trip through Scotland over the Christmas break, 13 days in total using a Tischer Box 200 on the back of our trusty old Hilux. It's a small space but ample enough for two and obviously the comfort level is a step up from our last truck camping arrangement. Tha...

Great review
other packs have those features as well...... especially osprey packs. so then who copied whom?
The last time i seen a leg that white, was when the blanket blew off my brothers pram.Great trip and a great video.👍
Cheers! 😂👍
Love my Trangia, had it for 35 years. Just recently updated to the gas burner and all new non stick pans. I had the kettle but never used it.
Really loved the video. Sadly not in the market for a two person tent like this but am someone who came across this review whilst looking for Abisko Lite 2 reviews, I was thoroughly impressed with the methodical description of the setting up process and the excellent design features of the tent. I've subscribed and will look at some of your other content. Thanks again.
Ahh cheers mate I appreciate it! I use my Abisko Lite 2 as a solo winter tent and can’t recommend it enough. It’s a good balance between weight, size and bad weather performance 👍
Just found your channel and at first I thought you were Graham McTavish! Trying to decide the best time of year to do the GGW. What were the dates of your trip? Also, did that diversion have any info about how long the track would be closed?
Aye I'm his stunt double 😂. We done this at the very end of April as it's still too early for the midge to be out in force. Weather is usually decent at that time of year as well. The first high route between Fort Augustus and Invermoriston is due to be re-opened in July this year according to the Highland Council website. There's no info about the path along the east shore of Loch Oich though. There's limited info on the website but here's the link 👍 www.highland.gov.uk/greatglenway/news
Why dont you show the landscape instead of talking so much????
You don't get to tell people how to make their videos unfortunately, if you don't like it, then don't watch. It's as simple as that.
Thanks for this video! in my opinion the pot stand works better for 27 whit smaller diameter, and it works on 2 levels. for 25 it's a bitt clumsy (because the bigger diameter)
I LOVE the extra space at the back. That was always my main complaint about this style of chuckbox: by the time you add the cooktop you really don't have that much workspace. This is a great design with so many nice touches. I'm going to make a near-perfect copy for my own setup, thank you so much for sharing!
Good luck with the build! 👍
I was on the GG 25-29 May. 1st night on the repositioned Glas-dhoire site, the site with the bears you checked out. 2nd night at the ‘wild camping’ spot at Kyltra locks. D3 wild camped about 4 miles before Drumnadrochit. D4 Abriachan Eco camping, D5 Inverness and a hostel. Worst day was the first on the tow path but other than that I was surprised how high above the canal the patch was. Enjoyed your video.😊
It must’ve been good camping at the Glas-dhoire site, it looked ace! Thanks for watching 👍
Great video, I have wanted to canoe the GGW for years
Cheers! I think it's more fun canoeing the route than walking it.
Love it. I would love to do this trail. How long did it take you?
It took us four days of relatively easy hiking, the trail is only 35 miles long! You should do it, it's probably one of the most unique trails in the world 👍
Wow!! Amazing video. Thanks for sharing. subd & Like 👍53
Cheers! Thanks for watching 👍
We were JUST talking about the full-length video yesterday! We are doing the trail in the first week of July and we are getting pumped and watched your video again yesterday. This cut is excellent. Great music! Thank you!
Cheers! You'll have a great time on the trail, it's like being on another planet. Thanks for watching and have a good trip 👍
Beautiful. Sound track was wonderful. Thank You !
Cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍
Great help and very useful safety advice. Thanks

You can inflate the "shnozzle bag" at 3:37 much more easily via the Bernoulli effect. Open the pump bag wide, blow into the open end, quickly close it and roll up. The velocity of the air stream you blow into the bag will cause a localised drop in pressure, drawing surrounding air into the bag. You should be able to get about 50% of the pump bag volume full this way, without the need to detach the pump bag and wave it about. 6 or 7 fills should be enough for the air pad. Hope that helps if you ever don't have you Flextail to hand.
Hey, thanks for the interesting video. I'm going to be walking the GGW this Saturday. Just regarding the detour you had, I didn't quite work out where it was? I know the high road from Fort Augustus to Invermorriston is closed. Where did you have the problem? Thanks again...👍
The detour was just after Laggan and right at the start of Loch Oich by the bridge. It’s not a detour as such as the route goes along both banks of the loch and you can walk either way, but you have to walk via Invergarry now. We were aiming for the Leiterfearn wild camping spot on the southern shore. Hope that helps! Have a great time on the walk and thanks for watching 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors ah I see. Thanks a lot. I'll check that out on the map. I did the WHW last year so am excited about this. Will be a different experience for sure. Cheers...

Great video, nicely explained and thought out. Good comparison. Confirmed some of my own thoughts. Will subscribe 👏
Cheers! Thanks for the sub, I appreciate it 👍
My friend. Oxidized aluminium from cookware coming into contact with acidic substances like coffee, tea or tomato sauce, is a done deal - it accumulates over time in conjunction with personal care products and disbursed aerosols. Bottom line - the quickest way to degenerating brain disorders. You know.... the types that have become the norm with age.
Walked GGW same last time. Watching this brought back wonderful memories of the walk.👍🏼
Cheers, thanks for watching 👍
Nice one Ben. I started laughing when you were going uphill remembering you told me you'd been on a bit of a slog. Still, lovely area to cycle around even though some of the paths can be a bid dodgy. Atb mate.
Cheers mate, just finished watching your latest hike! Aye it was a bit rough this one but the downhill was great; even if i did have the brake on 90% of the time 😂👍
I’ve been searching for a front opening backpack for awhile now. This helped me a lot. I bring a long telephoto lens with me and front opening allows me to access the camera with the lens attached easily. The side opening packs were no good because the very expensive lens would have to live without any padding on one side. Very risky. This solves everything.
Hi, the front opening feature is very useful. I have the Abisko 45L pack and it also has front opening. Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks from me here in Chynada, I enjoyed it! I am going to try that.
Cheers! Thanks for watching 👍
Great vid! How do you find these camp spots?
Thanks! Most of the time we just use Google earth to find forest roads and then just see what turns up as we drive 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors Thanks.
lovely trip out lads

Great video. Good banter as always. Not sure i could wait till 5 😀
Cheers mate, yeah it was a long wait 😂
great

Lovely simple camp. Thank you.
Thanks mate 👍
Great video mate. My first time in the Yorkshire Dales last Saturday - wild camped just outside Grassington. Beautiful place, will be visiting more in the future 👍🏼
Cheers! Yes it's a cracking place to wild camp away from the crowds 👍
Genius move to shed the weight of a regular tent so you can carry more beer! 👍🫡🍺
That was the plan! 😂👍
What an incredible hiking adventure along the Great Glen Way! From Fort William to Inverness, spanning 75 miles, the journey must have been filled with breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable experiences. Your video captures the essence of this epic trail, inspiring others to embark on their own outdoor adventures. Thanks friend for sharing this remarkable journey! Big like! We join your channel ☺
Thanks mate 👍
I hope Spanish Albert didn't catch the local bus. 👍😂

Not watched this trip through Spain before. Loved every minute of it. Really inspires you to see what kind of trip you can have in Europe 🍻
Cheers! It was a great trip 👍
That looked like a fun trip !
I would love to do something like this. I just need to find someone who I could do it with.
I wouldn't to this route on my own, it's a bit boring to be honest. The West Highland Way is ideal to do solo though if you can't find anyone to go with, it's a busy route so always lots of people to talk to and the infrastructure along the way is excellent! Cheers 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors Yeah, I would love to do the West Highland Way. The Devil's Staircase would put the fear of god in me. I also want to do the Whithorn Way, which goes from Glasgow Cathedral, to Whithorn.
@@AScottishOdysseyThe third week of May I did the WHW, 1days R&R in Fort William then the GG camping all the way and carrying my own gear. Please DO NOT be frightened of the Devil’s Staircase. Set your own pace and go your own way. Yes it was a slog, yes I was so pleased to reach the top. Go for it and good luck, oh by the way I was 70 in March. If I can do it so can you.😊
Nice job boys. It's pretty frustrating when a promoted tourism route dumps you onto detours. Not very joined up management from Scottish-whatever Good to see some true grit and humour dragged you thru. 🏅
Cheers Steve, aye some sort of notice at the start of the route would’ve been helpful.
The warm up 😂😂😂.
Class. Im just getting flashbacks of that night in Inverness 😂
Nice one Ben. Those diversions seem to take its toll, so those drinks were definitely deserved. Would you compare it to the west highland way? Better or worse? Hope you and Tris are well mate. 🙂
Hi Martin, the walk was ok but I wouldn’t really recommend it if I’m honest. Too much walking on the flat, my legs were killing me. The day where we done the most climbing was the easiest on the legs bizarrely enough, lots of variation in the terrain and a bit softer underfoot seemed to help. The WHW is a much better route. Aye mate can’t complain. Hope all is well over your way, bet the summer is really underway now? 18°c here today in Yorkshire 😂. Atb mate 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors yeah I always find a bit of variety in the hike is better for the legs than just flat gravel. My mate wants to go to Scotland hiking and camping and I'm trying to find a good one that's not 100's of people. WHW might have to be the one, maybe October time. Summer is pretty much here. Regularly early 20's but getting hotter each day. Off for a hike this Sunday to a place not far away that looks decent and possible wild camp territory as there's a river. I'll probably film it for the channel. ATB mate.
👍👍👍
Cracking video gents, took me back two years ago and we had a similar trip to yours, some tough hiking in that, I do have a say though, that last day looks a bit suss?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cheers! I re-watched Dave’s video before I left for some inspiration. Yeah the last day looks suspect, but I can assure you that we only got the bus part of the way 😂😂😂👍.
@@Adventure-Outdoors ha ha! Brilliant. Hardly noticed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yet lads put some effort in there mate. You was lucky with the weather! Thanks for taking us with you.
Cheers mate 👍
